The Path to Embodiment
Transformation begins with a journey within
"Maybe you're searching in the branches for what only appears in the roots" - Rumi

Somatic mindfulness

Throughout our lives our body becomes a container for what the mind can’t process. Our nervous system becomes hijacked keeping us in a constant state of survival instead of opening to the flow of life. As opposed to other therapeutic or coaching models that may rely too heavily on the mind, somatic mindfulness works with the emotional wisdom of the body. Instead of fixing, solving or willing change, we honor a natural unfolding. Through listening and nurturing what hasn't been seen or felt we organically open into fuller expressions of ourselves.
I believe you are already whole, lovable and complete. Our work together is to help you remember it.
My approach is rooted in the belief that healing is relational, that embodiment is a sacred act, and that transformation happens in the presence of real attunement.
About
Hi, my name is Kat Barker
I'm a certified Hakomi practitioner; shamanic cranial sacral therapist; transformational, creative and executive coach; corporate facilitator; retreat leader and storyteller. My path towards my own healing and integration led me to this work.

I use a holistic and intuitive approach to healing using ancient wisdom, deep attunement and the body's own knowing, to create a container for your story to unfold.

What is Hakomi?
Hakomi is a holistic approach to healing, that integrates mindfulness and a deepened state of body awareness to help you access core emotions and beliefs. Although sessions include talking, the experiential nature of Hakomi allows you to go deeper into how formative experiences shape your present day experience. By paying attention to gestures, emotions, tone, and tensions, you move into a state of discovery where wounding experiences and older belief systems can arise and be met with deep attuned care.

What is Somatic Transformational Coaching?
Transformational Coaching recognizes that internal change is a catalyst for external change. Similar to the saying "as within so without" it honors the principle that what we alchemize internally changes our world externally. As opposed to perfecting your thoughts, we bring loving curiosity to them creating a nurturing container for you to be witnessed and held. Instead of doubling down on patriarchal values and hustle culture, we trust that your greatest purpose is natural to you and calling you into your most fulfilled life.

-

-
People searching for an existence outside of hierarchy, comparison and self-limiting beliefs
-

-
People moving their attention from approval seeking in the outside world to their inner-world
-
People who want a place to discover the truth of who they are while being held in a loving and supportive container

A patriarchal model tells us we have to push to succeed, an embodied model helps us to surrender to our own unfolding. Without the need to will our future into existence, without using shame as motivation, we begin to look inside, naturally becoming that which we have been seeking.

When we think of healing, we move our attention from the mind to the heart. Instead of climbing the mountain, we surrender to the river. We move from pushing and striving, to allowing our lives to evolve into something more beautiful; reframing our wounding as a compass to our destiny while trusting in our own evolution.
